Students + Parents + Teachers = Success
Parents are a very important resource to students and teachers. When parents, teachers and students work together, the student's performance is enhanced.
Generally, we cover a new topic or expand on a previous topic every class. Class lessons explain and enhance the concepts which your child will need to thoroughly understand the concepts.
Expect to have a math assignment every day. It is extremely important that assignments are completed daily. Extra help is always available, just talk to me (or another teacher) to make arrangements. Students are expected to ask questions, seek extra help when needed, and work on mathematics daily, both in and outside of class.
Math is not a spectator class. Practicing to master the concepts just like practicing your sport or your music is necessary for improvement. Getting involved with all activities and completing all assigned work will deepen your understanding of the concepts. Come to class expecting a challenge and then do what is necessary to meet that challenge. You will get out of the class what you put into it.
You cannot hope for success, you have to plan for it. The will to succeed means nothing without the will to prepare. If you fail to prepare, prepare to fail. Keep up with your work. It is no fun playing catch up.
We welcome you to Park. We look forward to a year of learning and working with you to help you succeed.
