Required Class Supplies
- Quarterly Workbooks — These will be provided at the start of each quarter. You are responsible for having it during class. There will not be extras if you lose yours.
- Pencils — since part of learning math is making mistakes, the ability to erase and keep the work neat makes it easier for the student and I to follow the corrected work. Anything submitted in pen will not be graded for credit.
- Calculator — See below for more details
- Binder or sturdy folder — optional — Useful to keep all your materials organized
Calculators
In class, I will be using TI-36 Pro to do most of the statistical calculations. Since the focus of the class is on the interpretation and understanding the results, it is expected that you have a calculator of your own for work outside of class. A TI 84 will do all the calculations and most of the graphing for you, while a TI 36 Pro will do most of the basic calculations for you. Most calculators on smart phones are ill-equipped for statistical calculations. Any scientific calculator with statistical features will be appropriate (TI-30XS, Casio fx-991-CW, etc).
